Education

Nepotism

My cousin Lisa is one of the most talented singers I have ever had the pleasure of hearing.

She shares her talents for music AND education with the students of a high poverty school every day –  in the classroom and on the stage by directing their performing arts program.

Studies have shown that having art programs in the school helps students to learn more. It engages them in the school and that spills over into their education.

She has a very modest wish for her school. A video camera. One that can be used to record performances for posterity, but also can be used as a tool to show students how they can improve their performance…not just on the stage. It can be used on a basketball court. It can even be used to practice reading and public speaking.

Please consider supporting her class at Donor’s Choose.
