Most of the organizations that I have elected to support in my quest to Take Back My Birthday are national and international.

This one is very local to me. Street Tails is an animal rescue organization that I interact with on a regular basis. They are based in a pet store where I buy food and treats for my own little crew of pets.

I always knew they did good work. As I got to know them better, I learned that they actually do AMAZING work. They take in the pets that need medical care or special training before they can be adopted.

Watching a dog who couldn’t straighten his legs after years with a hoarder get surgery and then learn to run touched my heart in a way I could have never imagined.

Of all these deserving organizations, this is one where I will be able to watch my birthday donations directly help dogs I’ve walked and cats I’ve snuggled.
